Application of Oxalic Acid and 1-Methylcyclopropane (1-Mcp) with Low and High-Density Polyethylene on Post-Harvest Storage of Litchi Fruit

The present study investigates the effects of oxalic acid and 1-methylcyclopropane (1-MCP) treatments in combination with low-density polyethylene (LDPE) high-density (HDPE) on post-harvest storage litchi fruits. physicochemical properties, bioactive compounds, antioxidant activities, dismutase enzyme activity (SOD) treated untreated fruits were examined during 30 days at 4 ℃. most effective was 1-MCP HDPE packaging, which lowered weight loss preserved red pericarp. Fruits also exhibited higher content ascorbic (74.73–34.95 mg/100 g), total phenol (55.70–28.83 flavonoid (82.46–48.54 whereas anthocyanin (0.24–0.39 g) entire period. In addition, levels DPPH activity, reducing power, SOD observed HDPE-treated While antioxidants, acidity positively associated content, these negatively content. Thus, combined treatment are proposed as a sustainable strategy to preserve pericarp, improve quality, increase fruit shelf life litchi.
